2025 General Assessment Notices (What you need to know)
General Property Assessment Notices for 2025 were mailed to Yellowknife property owners on January 16, 2026.
This year’s notice may look different, as property values have been updated for the first time since 2018 following a city-wide general assessment.
Property owners are encouraged to review their notice carefully to ensure owner information and school support declarations are correct.
If you believe your assessment is incorrect, you may file an appeal within 45 days of the mailing date shown on your notice.
The City Assessor will be available to answer questions at the Assessment Open House on January 29–30, from 5–8 p.m., at City Hall. Appointments are recommended. Email dbeck@yellowknife.ca or call (867) 920-5679. Answers to some frequently asked questions are found here.
