Federal Elections

Federal elections are held every four (4) years. The next federal election is scheduled for 2025.

Territorial Elections

Territorial elections are held every four (4) years. The next territorial election is scheduled for 2027.

Municipal Elections are held every four years. The next municipal election is on October 19, 2026.

Election Signs

Election Sign By-law No. 4968 regulates the use of election signs.  Use the City's interactive mapping system CityExplorer to view the Election Sign Zones.

Am I on the Voters List? - Check to see if you are on the Voters List - You must enter your name as it appears on the Voters List.  If you go by a name other than your legal name, check both.  Eg. CHRIS SMITH or CHRISTOPHER SMITH.  Here you are able to update your information such as your address or school declaration, or enumerate if you are not on the Voters List.

You are eligible to vote if you:

  1. Are a Canadian citizen;
  2. Have attained 18 years of age; and
  3. Have resided in Yellowknife for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the day on which you vote.
