Diverting Containers, Electronics and E-Waste
The City of Yellowknife strongly encourages all residents and commercial entities to participate in recycling initiatives which help to divert containers, electronics and e-waste that would otherwise end up in the Solid Waste Facility landfill.
The Beverage Container Program accepts ready-to-serve bottles and cans for a cash back refund at the Bottle Shop Recycling Depot during their regular business hours. Additionally, recycling of electrics and other e-waste can be done at the same location free of charge! The Government of the Northwest Territories Electronics Recycling Program has the Expanded Electronic and Electrical Product Recycling Pilot Project which accepts a list of over 500 products!
