PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATIONS CENTER (PSCC)
The City of Yellowknife Public Safety Communications Center (PSCC) provides call taking and dispatching services for Yellowknife Fire Division, Municipal Enforcement Division and Public Works Department. All PSCC Dispatchers are Emergency Medical Dispatch and Emergency Fire Dispatch Certified, and are Public Safety Telecommunicators registered with APCO International.
In case of an emergency call 9-1-1 or alternately 867-873-2222
The Dispatcher will ask you to:
- Provide the address or location of the emergency
- Provide the nature of the emergency? Do you need fire or ambulance?
- Provide your name and call back number.
The Dispatcher may ask additional questions to provide information to First Responders and will stay on the phone with you until help arrives. We will also ask you to remain at the scene of the emergency until help arrives, as long as it is safe for you to do so.
Municipal Enforcement Division
Call 867-920-2737 and provide the dispatcher with your name, phone number, address and complaint or concern. The dispatcher will provide the information to the on duty MED officer.
Public Works
Call 867-920-5699 (after hours 7:00 - 4:00p.m. MON-FRI) and provide the dispatcher with your name, phone number, address and the information regarding your concern. The dispatcher will provide this information to the appropriate Public Works Division.
