City Wide Fire Ban Lifted May 26, 2023

Effective immediately, the mandatory ban on open air fires that was put in place on Friday, May 19, 2023 has been lifted for the City of Yellowknife. The fire ban may be reinstated at any time if conditions necessitate a ban.

Please practice fire safety at all times, burn responsibly, and ensure your fire is cold before leaving. To learn more about fire prevention, visit our Fire Prevention page.

Public notice is hereby given that the Council of the Municipal Corporation of the City of Yellowknife will hold a special meeting of Council at 12:05 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 in the Council Chamber, City Hall. 

The purpose of the meeting is to give First and Second Reading to:

• By-law No. 5070, a by-law to set the 2023 Municipal Tax Levy; and
• By-law No. 5071, a by-law to set the 2023 School Tax Levy.
