Development Appeal Board Notice of Hearing July 15, 2024

The public is hereby advised that a hearing of the Development Appeal Board of the City of Yellowknife has been scheduled for Monday, July 15, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chamber.

The purpose of this hearing is to consider an Appeal of the decision of the City Development Officer to issue a Development Permit PL-2024-0004 for Change of Use of a Single Detached Dwelling into a Special Care Residence on Lot 31, Block  150, Plan 863 (56 Rycon Drive).

Fire ban in Yellowknife

Due to the current extremely dry conditions, the City of Yellowknife is implementing a fire ban that will be in effect starting Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. (noon). The fire ban prohibits open air burning within city limits, including the use of approved fire pits, and will remain in effect until further notice. 

The use of camp-stoves and enclosed BBQs are permitted. Propane-fueled burners are also permitted for heating and/or cooking, but must be used within the confines of the fire...
