Wildcat Closed for Season

Following the structure fire on Thursday, August 8, the City of Yellowknife regrets to inform residents that the Wildcat Café will be closed for the rest of the season. In the coming weeks, work will be done to restore the building, ensuring the café will be in good working condition for next summer.

Yellowknife Fire Ban Lifted

Effective immediately, the mandatory local fire ban on open-air fires, which was issued on Friday, July 19, 2024, has been lifted due to recent precipitation and cooler temperatures. A local fire ban may be reinstated if fire danger conditions become extreme and necessitate a ban.

Drive-in Movie Returns

The City of Yellowknife, in partnership with Western Arctic Moving Pictures (WAMP), is excited to announce the return of the popular Drive-In Movie Night this summer.
This event will place on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 8:30 p.m. between the Multiplex Arena and Fieldhouse on Kam Lake Road. The gates will open at 7:00 p.m. The double feature for the evening includes Lilo & Stitch and the Fifth Element.
