The City of Yellowknife is now accepting applications from eligible organizations for Super Bingo 2025, scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 5, 2025. Super Bingo refers to any licensed bingo event with prize payouts exceeding $50,000 and not more than $100,000.

The Annual Garage Sale date and location has changed to Saturday, May 24, 2025 in the Shorty Brown Arena at the Multiplex, due to a scheduling conflict. Vendor registration is currently open and will close on Thursday, May 22 at 9:00 a.m.. Vendors may begin booth setup on Friday, May 23, between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

On Friday, April 11, 2025, Skills Canada, Northwest Territories, will be hosting a competition at Summit Air on Old Airport Road. Due to the expected number of participants, overflow parking will be directed to the Bristol Pit parking lot, leading to an increase in pedestrian traffic across Old Airport Road between Summit Air and the parking lot.

Preparations Underway for Aquatic Centre Opening

The City of Yellowknife (the City) is ramping up preparations for the opening of the Aquatic Centre.  To this end, the Ruth Inch Memorial Pool (RIMP) will be closed to the public as of Monday, April 14, 2025, to enable staff training in the new facility.
