From October 6-12, 2024, the Yellowknife Fire Division is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association to promote Fire Prevention Week. Throughout the week, safety tips will be shared related to this year’s theme, “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!”.

The City of Yellowknife (the City) will conduct its fourth Point-In-Time (PiT) in October 2024 with community partners and volunteers.  “PiT” is part of a coordinated national effort to measure homelessness across Canada.

Amnesty Day

The City of Yellowknife (the City) is pleased to announce that the Solid Waste Facility will host an Amnesty Day on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

The City of Yellowknife (the City) is pleased to release an updated Community Emergency Plan and Evacuation Plan.

City and PSAC Collective Agreement Ratified

The City of Yellowknife (the City) is pleased to announce that the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) Local X0345 and City Council have ratified a new Collective Agreement. This agreement will take effect on Monday, September 16, 2024, and will remain in effect until December 31, 2027.
